Oh you sweet talking you! :-) It's true. We can and should talk about stuttering. In my keynote speech at the World Congress and at the BSA conference in the UK I said "Let's make stuttering sexy!". (The first time I wore a short skirt. Won't make that mistake again...) With that I mean we should make stuttering, and ourselves, so interesting, that people want to know more about stuttering. Want to get to know us. It IS cool to stutter, as we're doing something few other people do. And despite that, many of us have jobs, partner and friends and are not afraid to speak in public, someting most non-PWS are afraid of! And are there more wonderful, caring, fun people than people who stutter? Anyone who doubts this should come to a stuttering convention. And I miss you guys as well, but I'm more engaged in PWS than ever before. I AM still on Stutt-L, but only lurk every now and then, as it's addictive and I do need my beauty sleep... :-) You're free to post my paper anytime. And do say Hi to all my friends, heros and role models over there. And there is noone in this world who would rather come to the NSA convention in NY but me... As it's you, Russ, and others from the NSA, who have given my voice back. You picked me up when I was down and cheered me when things went smoothly. Also my first workshop was in Anaheim, which was a complete disaster. Today I'm an international keynote speaker... I hope to return to show what you turned me into, thanks to your support. Hugs and keep talking! Anita
