I found your story to be overwhelming and amazing. It is truly wonderful to hear a story like yours and know that you persevered and came out stronger, and now are helping others that were in your situation. I am currently a speech-language pathology master’s student at New York University, and I am enrolled in a Fluency Disorders class. After reading your story I am curious to know if you have any suggestions for a child that might be having the same feelings that you had. You mention in your essay to talk about stuttering and to let others know about it; however, this can be extremely difficult for many children, as I'm sure it was for you. As an SLP, how can I get my client to feel more comfortable with stuttering, in order to get them to talk openly about it with others and “tear down their barriers”? Thank you so much for your time and your wonderful entry. It truly touched me and I feel as though I now have some insight into the thoughts of people who stutter. Thanks again.
