Hi Michael. Interesting question here as well. What is cool? I thought to be fluent was cool, stuttering definetely wasn't. Smoking, drinking, quick replies, big mouth. All cool. Being honest, being different, stand for who you are no matter your flaws: absolutely not cool. Your findings are so true and I applaud ou for that! Today I look people dressed in clothes I would never wear and think: Hey, I wish I had the guts to wear clothes I want to wear and not care about what others thing. That's cool! That Harley guy with all that leather and bults, going down on his knees to play with my puppie. That is cool! A guy who cries when he sees his little baby and a girl who drives a steam engine. That is cool! But that takes a lot of guts AND people around them to encourage them to be proud of having their own style, thoughts and emotions. I thought I was cool by being like "them". Today I know it's just the contrary. But I wouldn't have believed that before. What I would have believed is when someone would have told me "Stuttering is shit. I don't stutter myself, but I can imagine what it's like not to be able to say my name or express my emotions. But I believe in you and I hope you can see behind your stutter the same way you want others to see who you really are. Start treating yourself as you want others to treat you. You accept other people's "flaws", but you think they want you to be perfect. Why do you want to be perfect? To be better than others? How do you like perfect people? Aren't they a pain in the butt? Look at what you CAN do and improve that. Show how much more you are than just a PWS, so that people can judge your whole personality. You will have to struggle to survive, but if you want it bad enough, you'll get there. And last but not least: please give me a hand here, as I feel just as helpless as you, not knowing what to do to help you." Great thoughts! You're gonna be a good one. Keep talking. Anita
