Anita, thanks for your response. I believe one of the most important issues of being an advocate is promoting awareness. I think many people's reactions occur out of ignorance. By making information available to people who are uninformed or misinformed, they will have the ability to react differently. If they still choose to react in a negative manner, it is their choice. However in the experiences I have had so far, better understanding has led to making more positive choices!
