Hi Megan. Believe it or not, but it wasn't until I was 27 that I found out there were other people like me! Someone gave me a leaflet and I couldn't believe it. A support group? Other people with this "weird" behaviour? Support group supporting PWS? It's so hard feeling a stranger in this world where no one seems to understand what you're talking about or why you're doing what you're doing. To be with people where you either can talk about stuttering hours, days, years in a row, or where you don't have to say anything, as they understand you anyway. It's like being an orphan, suddenly finding your whole family... Finally recognizing your own appearance and behaviour in other people... It would have made a world of difference to me. That's why I hope you would like to learn more about the nearest chapter, visit them, invite them and tell your clients about them. They might not be interesting, as we all have different needs, but at least you give them a chance to find their "family". And also on occassions where you meet other SLPs, PWS, teachers etc, tell them about the self help movement. It can litterally save lives... Keep talking! Anita
