Your do's and don'ts for parents are great information -- for parents of any child with any type of disorder or disability. Many of the comments from adults who stutter have gone along the lines of, "I shouldn't have let stuttering rule my life when I was growing up." While this is great hindsight, it is not a child's fault that stuttering (or any other disorder) does indeed rule his/her life in many ways. Adults are not always kind -- even those of us who should know better! And children need people to advocate for them, recognize their talents, and love them for who they are. Yes, let's educate peers, other children, teachers, anyone who needs to get the "weirdness" out -- that's what is so necessary to put children who stutter onto a path that will fuel their self-esteem and fill them with the confidence that other children and adults take for granted.
