Hi Morgan. Listen to what they are trying to tell you and help them to find the words to tell others. Besides giving them the tools to speak more fluent, make them feel good about themselves and make them see stuttering is not who they are, simply something they do. That stuttering is not WRONG, just something that's a hinder in daily communication. Make them see they are fantastic beings with lots of different skills. Make them show their personalities to other people, so that people are no longer focused on stuttering. (One dot on a paper makes you see that dot only. Lots of dots make a Barbie or a Superman! Use the booklet "Sometimes I just stutter". Ackowledge the pain and frustration, go and stutter in town together to get an understanding how this might feel and notice the reactions from other people, but most of all, have fun while doing all this! Show the child and its parents the NSA, FRIENDS and their activities and make them meet other parents and kids who stutter. Also talk to the parents and to teachers, so that all are ready to help and understand the child. Together you can make a difference! Thanks for caring and keep talking! Anita
