School systems use the excuse you mentioned to exclude PWS from the caseloads. My argumenta were often that a) if we are truly speech pathologists, we work with speech problems, not only language problems and b) these are people who will have a normal life with just a little help. We have to take all the factors of stuttering into consideration,affective, emotional, etc., not just the fluency of the speech when doing therapy. It can be a very rewarding part of our practice!
