That's a great question Megan, and my answer to this is yes. As you say, you might modify the visual component for adolescents or adults, but the concept of "speaking outside the box" is historically what we strive for when we carefully assess the big picture and then break it down into realistic goals as we construct hierarchies with our client. I realize this particular design however, focuses only on environmental variables. At any age and stage, we don't take our eyes off of what's inside the box... the perceptions, beliefs, attitudes and feelings. I heard a powerful message at the SID4 conference this summer in Minneapolis.....when you have a physical ailment that requires medication, it doesn't matter which doctor or pharmacist dispenses the medication. But with stuttering, it truly does matter who delivers the treatment!
