Dear Ilana - that is a very good question. Biofeedback has been used both in developmental and neurogenic stuttering. Dr. Guitar has published some papers on its use in developmental stuttering and there are a few case studies published in neurogenic stutteirng. Not many! If my memory serves me right, some patients benefitted but others did not. For anyone familiar with this area of research this will not be all that surprising. Again, I think what we need are well controlled systematic studies to find out for which patients this type of treatment approach me help. Your interest in the area is very encouraging and I hope you will be able to continue asking these questions as a clinician - or maybe even as a researcher!
