Dear Mike - The diagnosis of neurogenic stuttering is normally reserved for people who have never stuttered before but who started to stutter as an adult or older teen following some lesion or trauma to the brain (could be from an accident or a disease). This does not seem to be the case with you given that you say you have been stuttering since you were a little child. From what you write, it would seem that your head movements are what clinicians usually call secondary behaviours. I don't know what SLP services are available in your Zambia. You may want to contact the International Fluency Association (www.theifa.org) or the international stuttering assocation (www.stutterisa.org) to contact other people in your country or in Africa who may be able to help you finding appropriate services. There are some very good treatments out there that may be able to help you cope better with your stuttering.
