Hi Tom, interesting question. Yes, we would be very interested in trying dual-task paradigms with these patients as it would help us figure out how such increased cognitive load would affect their neural system and speech performance. I'm not sure I agree that these patients would have a 'purer' form of stuttering because they may have fewer compensatory behaviours (although that is not true for all of them) but often they have other speech and language problems, as well as cognitive and neurological problems which makes the whole picture more complex. But I agree, until we do the research, much of this remains speculative
