Holly - good questions. With regard to examples, a case study was published of someone who started stuttering following a sudden and very severe aggravation of anorexia. Other conditions are described in the literature and you will find them when searching on line. You can also find further examples in my recent review chapter published in Conture & Curlee (2007), Stuttering and related disorders of fluency. Indeed, some patients stop stuttering when the medication is stopped but for some others this did not appear to be the case, suggesting that maybe there were some permanent or longer-lasting neurological changes, possibly as a result of medication.
