Thanks for sharing your story as it was very insperational. I am a graduate student and am currently working with a college age student for her fluency. The client avoids and she knows exactly when she avoids saying certain words. As a listener is it very difficult to identify these avoidances because it has become such a natural process for her. The client has expressed that she would like to stop avoiding. Do you have any advice for how to confront her avoid and help her to say what she wants to say? Any ideas for how to break an avoiding problem that has become second nature to a person's communication? Thanks!
