Did you mean to say "apathetic?" It's defined as: having or showing little or no emotion. I'm going to guess you meant the opposite of that and meant - am I more connected to my clients. In that case - absolutely. The best way to be connected to your clients is to walk in their shoes and I've had to do that my whole life :) I feel I have a ton of compassion, understanding and strength in the client's ability to be who they were, who they are now and who they want to be. When I was going through grad school, my stuttering professor had the class go out and fake stutter in stores and such. I knew of some students who refused to do it because it scared them so much - those people are just not going to be able to treat stuttering as effectively as someone who went out and did that kind of assignment.
