Thanks for your interest, Emily. Yes, these two factors are actually objectives in this camapaign. If people can see stuttering, they will be more aware of it and understand a little more about it. Think about what the Paralympics have done for physically disabled people. This is important because there are virtually no PWS taking high profile roles in the media or elsewhere. I think that seeing PWS who have recovered has virtually no benefit, because they no longer stutter and therefore it does nothing for awareness and understanding. Similarly, there is no point in stuttering organisations telling the world that people like Marilyn Monroe or Winston Churchill or whoever stuttered, because we never saw them stutter and it clearly didn't have much effect on their lives! Too often the stuttering community talks only to itself, largely about the possibility of recovery, and we forget to tell the outside world about our difficulty.
