Hi Lindsey, My grandfather used to stutter, nobody else. Being a lecturer and having to do one of the most stressful things a stutter can do, IE: talking in front of groupsof people(sometimes up to 130 at a time) has really helped me overcome my stutter. Previous people in this conference have mentioned -avoid avoiding, face the fear.......all very real in my case, and made me overall an emotionally stronger person! I still occasionally block, pause and substitute words. But most of the time I just let it happen....stuttering is becoming less and less of an issue now! Most importantly, by disclosing to those I teach that I stuuter, has really decreased the pressure for 100% fluency.
