Hi Karen, I think people are more positive towards stuttering in general! Although the term is so negative and used in many walks of life,ie; he had a stuttering start in a football match, etc..Also the severity of the stutter and covert tactics play a role. Why are we covert.......fear of other peoples reactions!!My dysfluency is mild, covert to a certain extent. On my first exam board I stuttererd all the way when reading the names of students out loud...which surprised many of my fluent academic colleagues. As you get older, more confident about yourself and your subject...it becomes a lot easier! Regards, Rob
