Mr. Healey, I am currently a student studying communication disorders. After reading your article I too feel that it is important for a client to have the desire and want for therapy, however, I wanted to know your thoughts on a question that arose in my mind. For a young child the home environment plays a crucial role in achieving easy speech. How would you address dealing with a young client who clearly has the want and desire to change but who has parents who are not making the necessary changes in the home environment because say "they do not have the time to make the necessary changes" or who feel "it is not me who needs to change but my child's speech"? Thank you for your insight, Sabrina
