I found your article to be very interesting. I am currently a graduate student in Communication Disorders and found it interesting that these principles are not stressed more often in our course work. I thought you made a very good point when you discussed counseling the parents of a child who stutters regarding treatment. I never really thought I would have to counsel parents about why therapy may or may not be effective; especially in a case where their child is uninterested in treatment. I think this would be very difficult, however I believe we must keep in mind the wishes of our clients and help them advocate for themselves. Thank you for your insight
