Very well-written article. I am new to the area of stuttering and enjoy reading experiences of people who stutter. I have a few questions for you. In your experience, why do people seem to stutter more when they are trying not to stutter? Could this be because of increased anxiety? Or maybe because they are concentrating so hard on how the words come out that they lose track of grammar and the message itself? Also, do you see people responding differently to solely stuttered speech versus stuttered speech with secondary behaviors? Just a thought -- I appreciate your insight!
