I am a second year graduate student from Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas. As a young clinician without a lot of experience, I am a bit nervous about working with the stuttering population. I know it is a part of the individual and that to embrace this trait is a crucial part of "recovery." However, I am lost as to how to reach that point with the client. I know you said it is a difficult and long process, but do you have any tips that gave you a sort of "ah-ha" moment? One of those break-through moments that led to your acceptance and growth as a person who stutters? How do we help our clients get to where you are, today? Thanks for sharing your story!
