You wrote: You wrote: "Do you think that since you were familiar with Fluency your recovery was easier?" I definitely think that my expertise helped me manage my stuttering problem. Neurogenic stuttering is often transient, but one never knows. I was not upset by my dysfluencies, and I viewed my condition as an opportunity to learn more about stuttering. We talk about stuttering vs the stuttering problem: The dysfluencies themselves are the the stuttering. The stuttering problem is the dysfluencies AND the feelings and attitudes of the PWS about speaking and stuttering. My stuttering was relatively mild, I had a constructive attitude, and I accepted my stuttering, so my stuttering problem was small compared to the stuttering problem experienced by some people. That is another good question to ask in "The Professor is In" and I would be happy to offer a response there. BH
