Thank you for sharing the struggles and successes you experienced on your road to recovery. I am a first year SLP graduate student at NYU in a Fluency Disorders course. In many of our classes we have discussed the importance of understanding what our clients are experiencing. You had mentioned that this experience has helped you gain a better understanding of others. How has this shaped and/or changed the way you teach and supervise students? Also, how have your previous thoughts of understanding the client’s needs changed after having been on the receiving side of therapy? Thank you for your time.
