Nikki, perhaps others can answer better than I. My first thought would be that the areas of the brain that play a role in aphasia may not be areas of the brain that may play a role in stuttering. Areas of the brain commonly suspected to play a role in stuttering have been the basal ganglia and the cerebellum. There is an article about the possible relationship of the basal ganglia to stuttering by Dr. Larry Molt in the second ISAD online conference, here on the Stuttering Home Page: http://www.mnsu.edu/comdis/isad2/papers/molt2.html BH
