I am a first year graduate student in the field of communication disorders and we don’t get much information (especially first hand accounts) on neurogenic acquired stuttering, so this was something new for me. ... Briana, Yes, I was lucky to have many friends and supporters. It brings a smile to my face whenever I think about them all. There were some lonely moments, though. When Robert would come in to visit, my greeting would usually be:"Thank goodness you found me!" It puzzled him, but it has an explanation. I was unconscious when I was first taken to the hospital. Then I was taken to a rehab hospital in an ambulance to an unfamiliar part of town. I could see no familiar landmarks out my window and I didn't have a clue where I was. For people like me in similar situations, I would suggest providing some photos of home and some maps to show where they are and how they got there. BH
