I am currently taking a fluency class for graduate school and have sincerely enjoyed reading this article. We have spent a lot of time discussing stuttering that is early onset in children, but have had little experience with neurogenic stuttering. I am curious to know how this experience has changed your perspective as a professor in the field of stuttering. We have all been taught to try to look at differences between people from a variety of perspectives, and to try to have the ability to see things from another's point of view, but few of us have had the opportunity to actually walk in another person's shoes for a given period of time. How has this changed your career and how you counsel others going through what you have been through?
