If so, did you experience anxiety with this loss of control? . . . . . Courtney, I was nota typical person with acquired stuttering. I experienced a loss of control at the moment of stuttering, but I knew what to do to regain control I did not experience anxiety. I stuttered mildly, and I was very knowledgeable about stuttering at the outset, so there was no fear of the unknown. I managed to view it as a gift, and one tends not to develop anxiety about gifts.
