Hi Renata. Thanks so much for your kind words. You asked: "Can you please tell me what specifically prompted your change in attitude? Was it something meaningful that your therapist said or recommended?" That's a good question, but a hard one to answer. There (almost) never is one thing. I needed to change. I was unhappy with my current life, and was at a place where I felt like I HAD to change. That is a biggie. My therapist and I also had a shared vision... as a little time went on, I could begin to see, feel, and understand what he was talking about, and he did the same with me, and his goals for me equalled my goals for myself. Also, and this is huge, I got involved in the "stuttering community" in support groups and on-line chat groups, etc... being with other people who are going through the same things makes everything a lot less scary and when other people around you are achieving goals, you begin to believe that you can, too. Those are probably the biggest items, but I am sure there were many more small factors that counted, as well. Take care, Joe.
