Hi Stacey. I think my parents were at a loss for how to help me as a child. I was very depressed about my stuttering, and did not want to work on it or talk about it, and my parents respected that, and so it was just never talked about. This, of course, is not a good thing, but it was what happened. I would always recommend that parents be as involved as they can be, to make stuttering an open topic in the house, and to understand that it is okay to stutter. Take care.
