Hi Dina. Thank you for your kind words. For a little more info. on the topic, you can read my other paper, "Lost in the stuttering woods," which sort of answers your questions. There really was not one thing that encouraged me. Graduating from college and realizing that I was not fully participating in life was one important factor. My parents, in their own way, had also always really encouraged me and let me know that I could do anything that I wanted to do. Then, when I was finally ready to make the changes that needed to be made, I knew that I would have the ability to make them. Ellen-Marie Silverman's article does a nice job talking about that, too. Take care. You have a wonderful teacher in Lee Caggiano. She is one of the best! Please tell her to be sure to come to The College of Saint Rose for our Weekend Workshop in April! Joe
