Not worrying about my stuttering was a gradual realization over many years. Part of it comes with age... when you are young you are surrounded by authority figures, but when you become the authority figure it changes the dynamic. When I became a senior officer in the military it was amusing to watch people trying NOT to react to my stuttering.
