As a teenager, I was isolated and had no role models of successful adults who stutter. That's why I recommend support activities such as the NSA annual conference. Teens who attend meet hundreds of adults who stutter, many of whom lead successful careers: lawyers, college professors, business executives. These examples are important in convincing young people that they can be whoever they want to be.
