Not being alone is really important. It's easy for a kid who stutters to grow up in isolation because: a) Parents and school speech therapists are well-meaning but do not fully understand what the kids is going through... and kids figure this out quickly; and b) Even if a kid meets someone else who stutters it's unlikely they will talk about stuttering outside a support group.
