Thank you for your kind comments. I actually do not think that there was any discrimination against Latvians as long as they had not collaborated with Germans during the German occupation of Latvia. I also do not think there would have been any discrimination/misunderstanding about stuttering had my stuttering been mild or maybe even average. Yes, Latvian was my native/first language, elemental German my next, and English my third. I never experienced real differences in stuttering severity in between languages even when I was learning French, Russian or Spanish. I think I have good control of Latvian and English. I can carry on an elementary conversation in German. My Russian and Spanish are no longer functional although I can speak a little. My French is really poor. :-) However, never did I experience any real differences in stuttering in any language. When I began to be more fluent, the fluency was roughly equal in all of the languages.
