Gunars, I appreciate your experience with, and understanding of this topic. On the subject of semantics though I see that all commentators and researchers are struggling to communicate effectively because we have not given a name to the stuttering disorder (associated behaviour, attitudes and emotions)to distingish it from the stuttering behaviour (dysfluency). In your case I understand REBT has helped overcome the disorder even though some of the behaviour remains. Your exprience mirrors my own and I hope you agree that a name like Stuttered Speech Syndrome for the disorder would be a useful addition to the stuttering lexicon. Very interested in seeing your draft in December. Mark
