Amy....Good questions. Sometimes I look back with amusement, but I do understand that there was also hurt and pain. I want to provide for others a self-help manual using Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) specifically applied to stuttering (this will be a part of my dissertation, I think). Until then the best way is to read some good REBT such as Lynn Clark's "SOS Help for Emotions" (2nd edition). The main thing is to understand that you can choose to accept yourself unconditionally whether you stutter or not. And stop demanding that everyone must love or at least like you. People may not like you for various reasons. You may be too tall or too short, too blond or not blond enough,..........you can't control the idiosyncratic vagaries of other people's minds, but you can teach yourself that if somebody does not like you, tough. I don't need everyone's love or approval. I can like myself no matter what people think or say...........Also you can read other of my answers.......many of the questions above deal with similar issues.....
