Reading your article was very inspirational, thank you for sharing your story with us. I was able to relate to a lot of your experiences since I am also an immigrant. My family and I came from the Former Soviet Union. I was a young child when I was experiencing the culture differences between my hometown and the new country. Therfore, much of what my family and i went through, i can no longer vividly remember. My question to you is as follows, what advice or words of encouragement would you relay to a child or adult with a speech and/or language problem that is undergoing immigration, assimilation, and is also becoming disillusioned with life due to their problem? I look forward to reading your reply. Thank you & all the best, Svetlana Uvaydova Speech Language-Pathology & Audiology Grad Student
