Hi Belinda, The regression studies of Jones et al. (2000), Kingston et al. (2003), and Rousseau et al. (2007), seem to make it clear that the only case history factor that makes a real difference is pre-treatment stuttering severity. That accounts for around 20% of the variance in time to reach Stage 2. Gender and age during the preschool years have been shown to be irrelevant. Regards, Mark.
