Candie; Self-help groups can be a valuable source of support for people who stutter. Individuals can offer one another encouragement, speak without fear of rejection, share experiences and debate the merits of various therapies. Speaking with other stutterers as a form of therapy can be helpful, but the comfort zone it provides certainly does not reflect the challenges of speaking in the real world.
