Hi John I a am Speech Langauge Pathologist just "down the road" from you in St. Paul, Minnesota. Thanks for a GREAT article. I am going to have to order your documentary. I am always impressed when adults and adolescents I work with can make changes in their attitudes about speaking and stuttering. It takes so much work. To do it on your own is amazing. It takes strength, courage, and discipline that I don't believe I have. I am really struck by your evolving relationship with your stuttering. You talk about how, growing up, it is almost like you had two identities, depending on your fluency (or lack therefore of). Over time, maybe that dual identity has faded, but stuttering still seems to be central to who you are. And it sounds like your reletionship with stuttering will continue to evolve. My question is this: as you have worked on your speech and attitudes, did you set goals for yourself? Do you have future goals?
