LaToya; Ultimately, every stutterer has to be their own self-therapist whether they work with a therapist or not. An SLP acts as a professional resource for information, guidance, support and feedback, but the really hard work must be done by the person who stutters. Whether working alone or with the therapist the stutterer must tailor a program that suits him or her best. No two stutterers are alike and one size does not fit all. I'm sure others have devised different versions of my "self-therapy" for themselves. I didn't invent my own therapy, but learned it from reading as much material as I could about the nature and treatment of stuttering.
