I would like to think that my brain moves swifter that my mouth and that my be my cause for stuttering. I can tell which consonants I'm going to stutter on especially at the beginning of some words. I can clearly remember in 4th grade during a spelling bee that I could not get /d/ out without going d-d-d-d-d, so I pretended that I forgot how to spell the word. Just the brain at work, reminding me that /d/ is one of the consonants that gets me hung up.
