Good Evening, My name is Jennifer and I am a graduate student at NYU currently taking a fluency class. The title you chose lured me into reading your words. The Jekyl and Hyde analogy you use to describe "verbal duality" interested me the most. My question(s) to you is, as a future SLP, what advice can you give me with respect to working with a person who stutters? You mention how you sought out speech therapy, but good therapy wasn't readily available. In your opinion, what makes therapy "good?" Most importantly, considering all you have been through, are you happy with the person you are today?
