Tara; I think it is very important to address the emotional side of stuttering. Our emotions can sabatoge our best rational efforts. But no two stutterers are alike. Each one reacts to his stuttering in their own way. Many are reluctant to address their emotions. Therapy must be tailored to the client. One size doesn't fit all. I've attended self-help groups. I think they are very benefical. They offer insight, support and solidarity. Stuttering can make you feel very alone in the real world.
