My advice is to learn as much as you can about stuttering. Talk to stutterers and try to do voluntary stuttering yourself to get an idea of talking in their shoes. As to what makes "good therapy";that is difficult to answer with a short answer. A therapist should be well versed in the nature and treatment of stuttering and these treatment options should be presented to the stutterer. It is up to them to consider them and apply them to achieve realistic communication goals. It's important for the therapist to know that each person who stutters has his or her own history and their own resources. No two people are alike. Wishing you all the best.
