Amy, thanks for visiting our paper. Some parents benefit greatly from school-based events. They are eager to get involved when invited. A couple of suggestions for keeping parents involved in their child's therapy include communication by e-mail. Many younger parents are computer savvy. Another idea is to hold monthly meetings where parents can get to know each other in a supportive environment. An agenda can be pre-planned to keep them focussed on issues related to improving communication skills and speech fluency.
