I have a similar question to the authors: Are there any objective data about a) stutterers stuttering less when alone and b) a large percentage of stutterers not stuttering at all when alone? If not, then your conclusion that "When not in the presence of other people, the majority of people who stutter can express themselves fluently." seems premature to me. I don't think stutterers are generally good at judging their fluency, and I've met and heard about many stutterers who continue stuttering when alone. Sincerely, Niklaus
