Dear Hila, No, this group of sufferers does not stutter in situations in which they are alone when they are not in contact with other persons. Any other person or persons, even those with the best intentions (e.g. loved ones) can provoke stuttering. A clear connection between stuttering and anxiety has not been drawn possibly as a result of insufficient methods for diagnosing anxiety as an internal psychological state.
