Thank you for your comments and questions. Most of the studies demonstrate that emotional intelligence can be learned, in contrast to other types of intelligence. However, some components of EI cannot be easily changed, such as personality traits, in mixed models. In addition, genetic, biological, and early learned influences on emotional intelligence may be significant variables in the learning process. In any case, improved EI competencies may open new doors and give new opportunities; however, they would require motivation, commitment, and effort. As indicated in my paper, I do work on EI competencies with my clients who stutter.
